Baking soda is an incredibly versatile product, bu Baking soda is an incredibly versatile product, but not just for baking your favorite desserts.
The benefits of use actually extend to a variety of places throughout the home.
⭐️ With its slightly basic nature, it can deodorize belongings (which is why its commonly found in the back of refrigerators) and help brighten clothing
⭐️ It works well with vinegar and can team up to be a powerhouse cleaner
⭐️ As a buffering agent, it can stabilize pH levels on surfaces, helping with cleaning
⭐️ It’s slightly abrasive, which allows it to pull particles up from a surface, getting rid of hard-to-remove funk
All of that means that baking soda can help you check off a long list of tasks on your home maintenance checklist.
That’s why it should be a staple tool in any healthy home cleaning product arsenal.
As an added bonus, it’s also low-cost, non-toxic, and can be found in any local grocery store or supermarket.
The next time you’re about to tackle one of the tasks mentioned above, try using baking soda and letting it work its magic🪄

One thing that's (arguably) more important than pu One thing that's (arguably) more important than purifying our indoor air is monitoring our relative humidity💧
This can be achieved by using a measurement tool called a hygrometer. You want to shoot for a range of 30–45% relative humidity inside your home.
Anything lower, and your indoor space can become too dry and be an ideal environment for viruses. Anything higher than 45%, and you start to run the risk of mold growth.
That's why handy tech gadgets like a hygrometer (or multiple) should be a staple in any healthy home so you can make sure your indoor environment is on the right track!
If you’re dealing with a humid climate and you just can't seem to keep your RH at the right level, you may need to invest in a dehumidifier to help keep your home regulated.
You can find both of these moisture management tools on our website. Just click on the link in my bio to start your journey to an awakened home🏡

A gorgeous natural, healthy home design we worked A gorgeous natural, healthy home design we worked on last year that finally broke ground!
Featuring some fun natural materials:
✨clay plaster walls
✨quartz countertops
✨polished concrete floors

Things don’t always pan out to look exactly like the renderings, especially after change orders due to final pricing and supply chain issues but it’s always fun to see it modeled in 3D to help visualize the space!
We had so much fun designing this one and can’t wait to see the final product!

There’s a huge emphasis in schools and architect There’s a huge emphasis in schools and architecture firms in the realm of green or eco design, and while many green strategies are better for the planet — they’re not always better for us.
I’d like to see a shift to a more health centered approach, because what’s good for us is going to be good for the planet!
Some of the main things impacting our health in our homes:
✨Chemicals from the materials themselves
✨EMFs from building wiring, appliances, lighting, and other devices in our homes.
✨Mold from poor water management strategies and little understanding of how our buildings and occupants interact and work.
If you’re looking to create a healthy home; it’s important to work with a designer or consultant who is informed on all aspects of our buildings that can potentially harm our health. 🖤

If you're planning to build a home in the near fut If you're planning to build a home in the near future, here's some things to consider for a safe, healthy home!
CONSIDER THE SITE
- Make sure there’s no Externally generated EMFs that would require any shielding on the interior, or worse, Magnetic fields that can’t be shielded.
- Proper drainage. Is your site at the bottom of a hill? Do the neighbors have proper drainage?
- Consider the sun, is there a way to maximize the heat from the sun and reduce the use or need for mechanicals?
ENVELOPE/BUILDING EXTERIOR
- You want to make sure your structure has a good hat (roof), jacket (walls), and boots (foundation) to protect you from the elements.
- Large overhangs, a good roof slope, vapor permeable walls, climate approved materials, and thought out foundations are key.
- Any penetration into the roof or walls should be installed with detail and care.
INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT
- Lowering EMF exposure through good wiring strategies.
- Plan ahead for future leaks so they don't cause issues.
-Select materials using nature as the gold standard and ones with a high hygric buffering capacity to regulate humidity
-Create a solid plan for bringing clean, fresh air into the home, balancing humidity and pressure, and ventilating the space.
There are a ton of moving pieces when it comes to building and a lot of details to sort out and get right. These are just some of the things we help guide our clients through during a new build project, but there's so much more to consider!
